Stan
Gellman Graphic Design, located at 4509 Laclede Ave.
in the Central West End, recently won nine awards in two design
competitions. The 33rd Annual International Creativity Awards
chose four Stan Gellman creations from among more than 7,500 entries
for inclusion in its annual full-color hardbound book of winning
entries. In addition, five of the projects the firm submitted
to Graphic Design USA 2003, a prestigious competition now in its
26th year, have been awarded winning status. The winning designs
were originally conceived for clients including the St. Louis
RCGA, The American College, Northwestern University, and the University
of Illinois Foundation.
On
Monday, Nov. 3, the Gateway PGA honored its top professionals
and amateurs in St. Louis golf at “A Celebration of Golf,”
held at Ameristar Casino’s Bottleneck Blues Bar and Theater.
Bellerive Country Club co-head pro Mike Tucker
was honored as the 2003 Professional of the Year, while Algonquin
head pro Steve Hausmann was honored as the 2003 Player of the
Year. Hausmann and Tucker will join Norwood’s
Larry Emery as the only Gateway PGA pros competing in the 2004
PGA Club Pro Championship.
In
what has become a pre-holiday tradition for area golfers, the
13th annual Great Gateway Golf Liquidation returns
to Machinists Hall Nov. 13 through 15. Shoppers can purchase drivers,
irons and putters for less than half their retail price. Admission
is $3 daily. Part of the proceeds from the event will help subsidize
the Gateway PGA/Roger Williams Memorial Golf Scholarship Foundations.

The
Worldways Children’s Museum, located at
15479 Clayton Road in Ballwin, is holding Worldways’ Carnivale
on Nov. 14 from 6:30 to 10:30 p.m. The first-ever fundraising
event will include international food and drinks, music and a
silent auction. Proceeds from this event will sponsor Worldways’
community outreach programs to at-risk and underserved children
