Spring Fashion for the Office
What to wear when the weather warms up

Though there still may be snow in the forecast, it’s not too early to consider your spring wardrobe options. The weather can still be unpredictable the next few months, with warm days followed by a sudden cold snap, but the brighter colors and varied fabrics of the season will get you through it all looking and feeling sharp.

Famous Barr is stocking plenty of men’s ties in bright colors for the upcoming season.
“Pink is such a hot color,” says Tina Hodak, creative merchandising manager for Famous Barr. Consider adding a pink suit to your wardrobe or use it as an accent color.
“Scarves are an important play no matter the time of year,” says Lovell Levin of Lovell Levin Ltd. “Whether they’re chiffon, hand-knit or funky with feathers, scarves can become your creative way to boost work attire. They individualize your look and have more meaning than just an addition of color to your suit.”

Along with pink, Merle Freed, owner of Merle Freed, notes the popularity of yellow for spring. “It looks so fresh,” she says. And for a twist on the traditional suit, consider a lady-like lunch suit in tweed, or pair the Chanel-inspired jacket with a silk charmuse skirt. “Twin sweater sets are also back,” says Freed, with the difference this season being embellishment and the addition of dressier accessories.

New in suits at Dillard’s is the “Premium Classics” group by Hart Schaffner Marx. With an emphasis on comfort, the line also features Super 100s imported fineline twill fabric, rich colors and textures and a value price of $595.00
This St. John suit is sure to turn heads at the office, yet it provides a look that’s both professional and powerful. “The femininity of the suit and its texture make it perfect for spring,” says Ellen Soule, public relations manager for Neiman Marcus. “And spring is all about color.”
A three-button jacket, such as the one shown in this Brioni charcoal pin stripe suit from Neiman Marcus, remains popular for men, according to Soule. The ensemble is classic yet versatile as it can be worn day or night – something men will look for this spring. The bold stripes are also a key trend and will be popular in dress shirts as well.
